Empower Yourself

Time to change

In today's world, technical-scientific skills, also called Hard Skills, are no longer enough to achieve success in working and social life, new ones are needed (Soft Skills). It's not enough to have top marks or have a thousand certifications and diplomas. There is a need for more, knowing how to listen to others and knowing how to communicate with them effectively, knowing how to work together to achieve common objectives and organize the work to be done together.

Soft Skills can be divided into two main areas:

1- those that come into play in everyday life, in our personal and social relationships with others (Life Skills) ;

2- those that come into play in working life, for example in

terms of collaboration with others, management of work groups, professional growth, to find or change jobs more easily if the current one does not satisfy you (Work Skills) .

The main component of Soft Skills or transversal skills is linked to our character, to our unique and unrepeatable way of being, which is determined by our personal experiences lived (or not) and lived. Our ability to self-evaluate and introspect, that is, the ability to reflect on ourselves and our behaviors, is the initial step to address.

It is no longer just a matter of memorizing new "concepts" but of learning new "behaviors" or improving old behaviors if they prove to be not very functional for our current objectives. Goals and priorities change as the seasons of our lives change, so too must our skills. This is the meaning of continuous learning throughout life (Lifelong Learning).

It's time to develop your skills

Evaluation of personal soft skills

The starting point is the evaluation of the soft skills already possessed, which ones to improve and which still need to be developed. Thanks to the interview and self-assessment tools, the starting personal profile will be developed.

Outdoor Training

Through participation in the Outdoor Training training experiences proposed from time to time, it will be possible to train and develop the necessary soft skills highlighted by the starting profile.

Training experience abroad

Training experiences abroad are a train not to be missed for those who want to develop soft skills by going outside the comfort zone. The European "Erasmus +" program offers many opportunities, we know how to exploit them.

Why train Soft Skills?

In every phase or period of life, there is a need to find new resources, to optimize those we already have, to create new strategies, new emotions and feelings to manage.

The starting point, for anyone who wants to begin their personal growth journey, is Self- Awareness , that is, how much we know ourselves. Being able to "look inside ourselves", to recognize our own strengths and weaknesses, means being aware of which behaviors we need to change and which ones we need to maintain. Having self-awareness is the mandatory initial step for any growth path.

The second step is awareness "of oneself together with others", that is , Relational Awareness, the ability to know how to communicate with others, know how to understand, actively listen to our interlocutors, colleagues, friends, family, lovers. It is the next step to self-awareness, in fact only after we know what we want, that is, what are the interests and objectives that motivate us and that make us move, can we best communicate them to others by creating social relationships in an attempt to achieve them. It's about being able to implement emotional attunement with others, in one word empathy .

The third and final step is that of Situational Awareness , that is, the ability to read events and the surrounding context in the right way, from time to time because each time is different from the other. Each time it will be necessary to decipher the context of the events, find the personal resources, the collaboration of others and the connections necessary to deal with the complex situations that arise, both in the private and in the working sphere, both being parts of the same context: our life.

“Soft Skills are behavioral and attitudinal skills that concern our way of interacting with others, of facing and resolving the difficulties and uncertainties that surround us.”
